When & Where:
July 1st, 12pm–7pm
Parc Lucia Kowaluk (corner of Pine / Parc)
Come celebrate as a community on the birthday of Lucia Kowaluk, the late community activist and social worker who cofounded the CCMP, and many other social justice projects.
Enjoy a delicious BBQ and potluck meal cooked by your neighbours (please bring your own plate, cutlery, cup; welcome to bring something to share, but no pressure).
Discuss citizen projects to improve the neighbourhood, like for the hospitals, housing justice, ecology, food autonomy, and more.
Learn how to do soapstone carving with Inuit artist Saila Kelly Bear.
Visit Bar des Pins and dream of how we can make it a community project.
Buy organic plants for your garden (we have lots of peppers, onions, kale, cabbage, tomato and more!)
We will be fundraising for our community projects so welcome to make a donation to the CCMP in person or through our website.
Schedule:
12pm: Lunch
1pm: Presentations of community projects and discussion
2pm: Demonstration: Honour Indigenous Children. Denounce Genocide. Demand Justice. (Jeanne Mance / Parc Ave, Monument à George-Étienne Cartier)
